Here are some images from my degree show. Overall, i was extremely pleased with my room. All the hard work and tears completely paid off, and too see my family so proud of me was a bonus. All night i kept hearing people refer to it as the ‘vagina room’ and “have you seen the vagina room, come on lets go see” so obviously people were open minded enough to take a step inside.

After a stressful few months getting my degree show up and ready, i appear to of abandoned my artistic side. However i am back on track for my masters and will be posting frequently, about my work and my ideas :)

The Vagina Studio

Another busy day in the studio another few vaginas made, waiting for them to dry out ready to paint.

LATEX KNICKERS

Here’s a few more snap shots of my work in progress.

For this piece, I left a few pairs of pants soaking in a tub of liquid latex when it it had dried about enough, I removed it and this is the outcome. I’m actually pleasantly surprised with this experiment.

I can’t quite put my finger on what it is I find interesting about this sample but I know I’m intrigued by it.

Here are some more photographs of my progress, These here are dried but i have not started to fade and mould yet, these need another 2 or 3 weeks before they will be ready, so i might have to up the process  by applying talc and chalk to create the same affect.

A CLOSE UP…

Here are some photographs of the next stage of my vaginas, they have been dried out, painted and chalked, and are ready to now be taken to the next step – applying depictions of treatments the vagina would of been subjected to if diagnosed to be hysterical.

212 VAGINAS DOWN 188 TO GO…

So for some reason i have decided to make around 400 of these vaginal depictions…
My intiial idea was to make enough to completely fill a wall full of vaginas, so by taking a few i have already made i have roughly worked out i will need around 350-400.

so right now im about half way there i believe.
Im just waiting for them to dry out so that i can begin to paint them and add chalk.
