TRANSPOSITIONS

The idea of taking something that already holds a use or need and taking it apart, disassembling its initial state then re assembling in a way to add new meaning can be described as transposing. When undergoing artist research, this type of art is common with contemporary artists who transpose the ideas of the masters – developing their initial ideas and recreating it within present day society.

Incorporating this within my own practice was an unusual concept, as the idea of transposing had never occurred to me before. However, when i began to experiment with possible differing outcomes and material, my mind went into over drive.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with the idea of transposing objects and revamping them into something which contradicts their initial state.
